Does anyone have information on the price & release date for the Black & Decker motorized deadbolt

Last date I can find is Summer 2009... Looks like this one may be slipping a bit...

I think it is slipping quite a bit. On another forum it is reported not to be available until the end of the year.

I saw the Black & Decker/Kwikset deadbolt at CES. I wondered how it could be both Zigbee and Z-Wave compliant. The fellow at the booth took the back cover off and showed us the removable interface cartridge. The Zigbee cartridge is available now. Z-Wave will be ready in April.
They had a working Z-Wave demo unit, and they were using Vera to talk to it. MiCasaVerde has already prepared the user interface for the Kwikset, and it was well-done. There's a log of who opened the lock and when, and also a timestamp for when the door was locked. You can use Vera to assign pass-codes for each individual and to create access schedules for those individuals.
When the lock is activated, if the bolt encounters any resistance before it reaches the end of its stroke, it will try to throw the bolt four more times and then flash the keypad red and signal an error back to the controller.

they were showing the zwave connector at Cedia before last. that was about 1 1/2 years ago. i thought they already released the zwave piece? that's weird that it is taking this long.
there are 2 companies doing them. i forget the other one. schlage or something. anyways the b&d when i saw it only unlocked the deadbolt itself. it did not actually move the deadbolt which can be annoying i would think. the other company fully opened the deadbolt when activated via zwave.

The REP at CES said the deadbolt will be out late FEB? in Zwave configuration. The RF modules are removable and changeable.

I was told at CES that the locks would be $350-$400 for the Kwikset. Even for a motorized bolt, this seems a bit pricey. I understand that they could probably get that price for the ZigBee model as people are already used to that price point if they bought Control4. I am not sure how they justify the upcharge when the standard non-ZigBee/non-Z-Wave Kwikset motorized bolt lock at Lowe's is $99. They must have set the price based on the high demand.
If you're interested in the nicer Baldwin locks, get ready to pay much more. One B&D rep who must have had his head on backwards told me that the ZigBee/Z-Wave Baldwin lockset was $1500 (this includes the handleset too).

Wrote an email over the weekend to Black & Decker about the new Zwave locks. I got a reply today that they are shooting to release them by the end of this month.
