Thought we might keep a list of what's on the horizon as well as new stuff coming out.
hit the specs tab for the z-wave info http://actiontec.com/products/broadband/zcontrol/ http://www.ehomeupgrade.com/entry/4585/act...oduces_zcontrol |

i know it works with mcontrol but then again they are using the controlthink dll to begin with. i have used it with thinkessentials pro and the controlthink sdk also. maybe we could pin a list of z-wave software in general so people know what's out there.

It looks like the GE Z-Wave devices are being manufactured by Sheenway Asia Ltd.. While Universal Electronics makes the GE remote controller, entering Sheenway's FCC prefix "U2Z" in the FCC search screen turns up four GE items: an in-wall dimmer, a plug-in dimmer, an outdoor plug adapter, and an indoor receptacle. If the GE-provided documentation proves to be inadequate, the manuals submitted to the FCC and posted, along with internal and external photos, on the FCC site are pretty thorough.
For some real fun, try searching the FCC site for devices in the 908.42 to 908.42 MHz range. You'll see that there are fifteen sources for a total of 62 FCC-licensed Z-Wave devices sold in the U.S.: ESI, Logitech, Everspring, Sheenway (GE), Leviton, Intermatic, ACT, A-1 Components Corp (a thermostat), Senton (Sylvania), iControl Networks, Alpha Telecom (4HomeMedia), Golden Power Manufacturing Ltd. (RiteTemp Thermostat). Wayne Dalton, Techniku, and Panasonic (Z-Wave chips). Searching the range from 908.4 to 908.4 turns up another 44 devices from sources including Cooper Wiring Devices, Hawking Tech, Universal Electronics, Portable Innovation Technology Ltd. (PopAlive iPod Dock), RS Scene Automation (motor controls), Avidyne (Sirius radio and satellite weather), and ActionTec. The Avidyne MBL700 Broadcast Datalink Receiver is new to me and is a seriously cool-looking piece of kit. Check out the external Z-Wave antenna in these photos. It looks like they are using the Sirius conductor remote control. I had heard that a Z-Wave enabled iPod dock was coming, but I thought it was coming from Good Way. It looks like the PopAlive has been out for over a year, but this is the first I've heard of it. |
