I have been thinking for some time about attempting some sort of home automation. Recently after locking myself out of the house I thought I'd look at it more closely which is when I discovered the Schlage Keypad Lock. I think I would like to try this but I am concerned about the 4 digit pin on the door. At least, from everything I've read it is 4 digits. Is it possible to make the code longer? I realize that there are numerous possible codes with just the 4 digits but even so I'm not comfortable with that. It seems to me like I should be able to make the code 100 digits if I really wanted to.
